Using infrared cameras during storm events
SERVPRO often uses infrared cameras during storm events and most water damages to help quickly find areas that could be water damaged. Infrared cameras only show temperature differences on the surface area. Often the water is a different temperature and also, evaporation cause surfaces to cool.
These before and after photos show storm water damage to a hallway from above. In the before photo everything looks ok. As you can see on the after photo the infrared camera quickly exposes an area of evaporating water creating a cooler area on the wall. SERVPRO will always varify this with a moister meter. With out the infrared camera this water damaged area could have been missed.
SERVPRO removed the vuinyle base coving, drilled ventilation holes, set up air movers and dehumidifiers to dry the walls. This stopped further damage and prevented mold from growing.
