Night Out Gone Bad!

1/11/2021 (Permalink)

After a fun night out, there is nothing better than coming home and fixing yourself a nice greasy, late-night breakfast. Some bacon and eggs, and maybe some toast, will help to make the munchies go away. You crack the eggs and get the bacon frying up in the pan and decide now would be a good time to turn on the TV. While that delicious breakfast is basically cooking itself, you plop down on the couch to watch a YouTube video your friend has been nagging you to watch. The only problem is, this video is not that funny and now that your body is horizontal, and those eyelids getting heavy. Soon, the loud rumbling of your snoring fills the room. The bacon and eggs continue to cook themselves, only now they are not doing so hot. The grease has reached a flashpoint and the ingredients of the pan are on fire. A spark leaps out of the pan and finds a dish towel which transfers the fire to the wall and before you know it, the smoke alarm is screaming at you to wake up because your kitchen is burning. Adrenaline forces you out of your sleep-induced stupor and your survival instincts kick in. You grab a fire extinguisher and attack the flames. The foam suffocates the fire and just as quickly as it started, it is all over. Except now your house smells like a fire pit. Ugh! Smokey and fire extinguisher dust everywhere. I guess cooking bacon and eggs at 2 in the morning after a night out not the best idea, next time Jack in the Box it is!

Just be glad that SERVPRO of Santa Barbara is only a phone call away. Fire and smoke cleanup is one of our specialties.
